Special Olympics Unified Sports is a program developed by the Special Olympics organization that aims to promote social inclusion, understanding, and acceptance among individuals with and without intellectual disabilities through sports.

Unified Sports brings together athletes with intellectual disabilities (referred to as ATHLETES) and individuals without disabilities (referred to as Unified PARTNERS) to train and compete on the same team.

The primary goal of Silver Creek Unified Club of Longmont and Unified Sports is to break down barriers and stereotypes by providing opportunities for people with and without disabilities to play and compete alongside each other as equals. This program fosters friendships, teamwork, and mutual respect while promoting physical fitness and overall well-being.

At Silver Creek they have classes for Unified PE and Unified Percussion. They also offer Unified Sports, in both Bowling and Basketball, though they are hoping to expand into other sports.

Skyline Kiwanis is proud to sponsor this program, and recently donated funds to help support their activities.
